His experience has ranged from youth ministry with Youth for Christ to youth pastor positions in two churches and two senior pastor positions. His goal in ministry has been to minister along side people in churches, believing that all are called to minister. Seeing individuals come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ is the first goal, after that it is exciting to see them grow in that relationship and develop their own ministries. Acacia Hills is Pastor Rick's first experience with a church plant. He admits it has been an effort with many challenges, but also many blessings.
"Certainly, there have been times where we have been forced to totally depend on God for direction and strength. I see that as a good thing; that's exactly where He wants us."
Pastor Rick's family consists of his wife of 24 years, Lori, who has served along side him in the the area of music ministry. Together, they have a son, David, and three daughters; Lyndsay, Leah, and Lexie.
